In the hot days of summer, we really need some refreshment. Therefore, this tour is perfect for you! Paddling in the dramatic Saklikent Canyon (eg. hidden city) will put a spell on you. The walls of the narrow canyon rise 300 meters above the riverbed. Despite its enormous size, the canyon is very easy to access without requiring any previous experience our equipment.
Patara was the Roman capital of the Lycian region. It boasts so many well preserved ancient buildings. The 18 km long Patara beach lies right behind the settlement where we will have a great opportunity to swim.
We will start our transfer onto Saklikent Canyon first. We will paddle a few kilometers along the cool waters of the creek running in the middle. The scenery is absolutely admirable. There are also pleasant cafes beside the stream for a cold drink or ice cream. Next, we will explore the nearby ruins of Patara on foot. The parliament building, theatre, roman bath, 2000 year old date orchard, triumphal arch, granarium and the colonnaded harbor street are among the best preserved structures. Now is time for an invigorating dip in the Mediterranean, before we head back home.
